Anticipating rapid development, construction industry changes and technological advances, the private practice of architect Jorge Del Rio, FAIA - ARCHITECT evolved into JORGE DEL RIO, ARQUITECTOS, C.S.P., a comprehensive organization of dynamic individuals including: ARCHITECTS, INTERIOR DESIGNERS, ENGINEERS, COST ESTIMATORS & SPECIALTY CONSULTANTS Supported by resourceful technical & clerical personnel it is due jointly to the breadth of our staff and to the individual strengths of each member that the firm owes its continued success. In addition we have both the physical facilities and technological equipment for immediate in-house expansion as well as an established human resources network for outsourcing on demand. Maintaining an adaptable organization allows us to change in accordance with each projects programmatic, socio-economic and technological conditions in order to meet all project requirements on a timely manner and minimize direct cost expenses to our clients. We are firm believers in collaboration and as such we have formed strategic alliances with firms both local and abroad to provide better integrated services for our clients. Some of our collaborators include Borges + Associates, Morrison Seifert Murphy, C7A, SCF, J.C Deya & Associates & Omega Engineering. We have state of the art computed aided design and drafting equipment & software which is upgraded to keep up with industry standards. Renderings & construction documents are generated with Autocad software, Sketch Up, 3D Studio and we recently acquired Autodesk Revit allowing us to simultaneously develop 2D & 3D drawings and provide clients with quick and effective 3D visualizations throughout the design process. Our computer network is set up with friendly interfacing capabilities to allow for easy information exchange with our clients, consultants and collaborators throughout each project's development process. |

Since 1963 we have managed and designed local & nationally recognized projects representing a wide range of planning efforts and building types. Our design expertise includes: - RETAIL , COMMERCIAL & OFFICE SPACE - INDUSTRIAL & WAREHOUSE FACILITIES - INSTITUTIONAL FACILITIES -TELECOMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES - RECREATIONAL & RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS - HIGH-END CUSTOM RESIDENCES For over 35 years we have assisted our clients by providing sound advice and good design at each and throughout all phases of the development process. Our broad-based practice and networking capabilities allow us to facilitate: - Site selection, feasibility studies, space planning and sustainability advise at the early planning stages - Schematic design studies, cost estimating & permit approval during the design stages; - Bidding advice, project supervision and inspection services during construction. In addition we provide landscape design and interior design services as required by our clients. Our clients include several domestic and federal government agencies as well as private individuals, entities & corporations for whom we have achieved award-winning designs. A substantial number of our commissions have been for repeat clients. In every project, we have successfully met our deadlines within the established design time & budget schedules and often surpassed our client's expectations. The firm's strong record in cost control and time management is the result of a fully integrated cost estimate and design process. Many national, regional and local awards for design excellence have been awarded to our firm, including the 1990 Department Of Defense Excellence In Design Award, the 1977 American Institute Of Architects Honor Award Of Excellence and the 1976 First Honor Award By The U.S. Army Chief Of Engineers. In addition, many of our designs have been recognized with over 20 awards by other institutions such as The AIA Puerto Rico Chapter, The P.R. Home Builders Association and The Pre-Stressed Concrete Institute Awards and many of our projects have been featured in prestigious architecture periodicals such as ARCHITECTURE, PROGRESSIVE ARCHITECTURE and URBE MAGAZINE. |
